Sanggar Pamujan

Sanggar Pamujan is located in the plantation area of Poncokusumo Village. This place used to be a place to practice religious rituals during the Kapitayan period, an ancient belief before the advent of Hindu-Buddhism. People with this religion worshiped “Sang Hyang Taya” as their god who has no beginning and no end. Therefore, the area in Sanggar Pamujan is peaceful and full of big trees to create a prayerful environment.

To conduct the ritual of worship, there is a small cabin that facing Mount Semeru, which is believed to be the highest peak of the gods. There are also some historical relics such as ancient trees, stone axes, and stone mortar that can still be found in Sanggar Pamujan.

Nowadays, Sanggar Pamujan is still used by some people to practice meditation or rituals, especially on Friday. This is carried out by local people or even people from outside the area who still have beliefs about mystical things.

In addition to conducting rituals, this place is also part of the Poncokusumo Tourism Village tour package which shows Poncokusumo Cultural Arts performances to tourists who visit this place.
